Roger Kemp

Roger L. Kemp, a career city manager, served as the City Manager for the City of Meriden from 1993 to 2005.  Prior to this, Roger served as a City Manager of cities in New Jersey (northern), and California (southern, central, and northern).   Most recently Roger served as the Interim Town Manager of Berlin, the town located to the north of the City of Meriden. Presently, Roger holds the following positions and serves in those capacities noted below:

  • President, Kemp Consulting, LLC, a consulting company that provides selected services to municipal governments in the State  of Connecticut, and elsewhere (2009 to Present).
  • Adjunct Professor, Public Management Program, School of Business, University of New Haven,  West Haven, Connecticut  (2009 to Present).
  • Adjunct Professor, Political Science Department, School of Arts and Sciences, Southern Connecticut State University, New  Haven, Connecticut (2009 to Present).
  • Lecturer, Public Administration Program, Charter Oak State College, New Britain, Connecticut  (2007 to Present).
  • Visiting Scholar, School of Business and Technology, Capella University, Minneapolis, Minnesota (2006 to Present).

    Roger is also a member of serveral national professional associations. He resides in the City of Meriden, not far from the Quinnipiac River, and is a frequent walker, nature observer, and paddler along this river, as well as its adjacent wetland areas
