QRWA - Quinnipiac Slide Show
Written in April, 1997 and revised in January 1998, by Sigrun Gadwa
Part 1 - Down The Quinnipiac - Its Natural Resources & Challenges
Part 2 - River Pollution & Solutions
This slide show is available from the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association.
Please contact the QRWA (Sigrun Gadwa) or Peter Davis (New Haven Parks Dept.)
to arrange a showing, or for a copy of the slide carousel and training in
presentation.
The QRWA asks that you also distribute supplementary printed materials on
non point source pollution and river resources to your audience. Masters of
these printed materials are available free of charge upon request, from our
office or from Peter Davis, and photocopying is encouraged. Quinnipiac River
handouts are also available from Elizabeth Marks in the Rivers Program at
the Department of Environmental Protection. Call 203 237 2237 or write us
at 99 Colony Street, Meriden, CT 06451.
This slide show was produced by the Quinnipiac River Watershed Association
with federal funding from the Non Point Source (NPS) Pollution Prevention
Program under Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, administered by the Connecticut
Department of Environmental Protection.
Note that the show has two sections. The first is organized as a trip down
the river (slides 1-40) and the second (40 - 80) is a systematic look at different
types of pollution, and ways to address them. The show may be given either
as one longer presentation or on two separate days. Alternatively, or either
part could be given by itself, with a little supplementary summary of material
in the other part, perhaps accompanied by a few slides of your choice.
Underlining indicates the most important text, to help presenter with shortening
the show as needed to fit available time. We suggest you make a photocopy
of the script, practice the show several times, and add your own underlining,
in a different color.
Please DO NOT rearrange slides in carousel, or turn carousel upside down
with out its protective ring. Its value is over $100. Our slide shows are
regularly revised; we would appreciate any comments or suggestions you may
have to offer.
